Dr Shivonne Prasad is a Melbourne-trained Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician. After obtaining her medical degree at The University of Auckland in New Zealand, she completed her basic physician training at Austin Health in Melbourne. She went on to gain fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2016, after finishing her specialist training in Respiratory and Sleep medicine at Eastern Health and The Alfred Hospital.

Shivonne subsequently undertook an international clinical and research fellowship in Occupational Lung Disease at Toronto Western and St Michael’s Hospitals in Toronto, Canada. Her time abroad provided valuable insights into the environmental influences that lead to the development of lung disease, particularly workplace exposures and allergens.

Shivonne’s areas of interest include:

• General respiratory medicine

• Asthma

• Allergic rhinitis

• Occupational lung disease

• Sleep medicine

Shivonne is currently a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
